Levi’s Vintage x Cone Mills Denim – 1915 “Homer” 501xx Denim

By no means a new denim but an oldie goldie at the very least. A couple years ago in July 2009, Levi’s Vintage collaborated with Cone Mills Denim to produce the 1915 “Homer” 501xx Denim.  As the story goes, Cone Mills has been the sole supplier to Levi Strauss & Co., and to celebrate the long standing relationship, they released this very special denim.

Named after the original owner, the denim stays true to the original fabric and fit, because in those days, baggier, high waist worker jeans held up by suspenders was all the craze.  These denim truly reek of 1915 history!

Although there are a few shops around that do seem to still carry these, they are not easy to come by.  If you do have luck, bear in mind that these are made as if they’re from 1915 and will shrink 1-2 sizes in waist, 2-3 sizes in length (as it is unsanforized).
