Fade Friday – Levi’s Type 1 Jacket (~ 9 Years, One Wash)

This week we’re bringing you a particularly classic item for Fade Friday. While it may not be worn to shreds or have participated in an artistic project, we help but admire the results.

Submitted by Ralph, this Levi’s Type 1 Jacket has fair bit of history. Purchased back in 2003, the jacket has reportedly attended more concerts than most people have in a lifetime and has only been washed once. Which explains the classy fading at the seams and edges, as well as the lovely vertical falling all over.

The jacket isn’t selvedge, nor is the dye 100% pure indigo (it’s actually a charcoal blue dye), but we don’t think that should be held against it. After all, its what you do with it that counts if anything it adds to the jacket’s charm as a fantastic piece of raw denim history.
