Left Field NYC Lightweight Pieces – Chambray Workshirt & 10 Oz. Chino Pants
While we at Heddels of course enjoy our denim, there comes a time in summer where wearing our favorite pair just may not be quite as comfortable as we’d like. For days like this, it’s nice to have a good looking chino option in a lighter weight to offer something different and more breathable.
We’ve mentioned Left Field NYC before a couple times for their denims, but this time we’ll have a look at a couple of their other options; particularly the excellent 10 oz Japanese twill chino pant and lightweight chambray workshirt.
The light blue chambray workshirt is a great option as a spring or summer shirt as it maintains the style and construction of a classic workshirt in a fabric light enough for daily wear even in warm conditions.
Left Field NYC has clearly put a great deal of care into the design and styling in this piece, as the triple stitching (to maintain the seams regardless of potential heavy wear), heavy duty metal buttons, reinforced elbows, chain stitch runoff and a regular collar rather than tab are all excellent design choices. The shirt is available from the Left Field NYC for $210.
One of the nicest non-denim pant options I’ve seen for a while, these 10 oz Japanese twill chinos are an excellent option for anyone wanting to branch a little bit out of denim. The fabric is military grade, sourced from Japan, giving you the assurance that you’ll be able to put them through the ringer safe in the comforting knowledge that you’ll likely grow tired before the fabric does.
Similar to the workshirt, the Left Field NYC has taken care of the details in this chino with a close attention to detail. The waistband is chain stitched, the button fly features corozo buttons, side pockets are on-seam, pocket bags are cut from a chambray fabric and the back pockets are welted, all coming together to make one clean and elegant pair of chinos. They’re available from the Left Field NYC as well as at Joinery NYC for slightly under $200.
