Fade Friday – 3sixteen ST-120x (1 year, 1 soak, 0 washes)

Dark weft denim could not be more popular at the moment and its potential for high contrast fades is largely responsible. When you start off completely black, even the subtlest of fades jump out. Well you won’t have to look hard to see the evo on this week’s Fade Friday, a dark weft pair of 3sixteen ST-120x’s.

Despite the desk bound nature of student life, owner Sam McGee (known on the raw denim subreddit as working_on_it) was sure to put in hard wear biking, camping, and hiking in his jeans. This led to several blowouts and home repair jobs, but he held off patiently on soaking and washing them until crossing the one year mark, leading to the muted grey patina characteristic of 3sixteen’s sanforized denim.

Check out the pre and post-soak photos below.
