Roy “Big Bro” Round Two BB1002 Jeans

A rarity reserved for the walls of Self Edge, one-man-brand Roy will be releasing a new model of jeans today at 9am PST, the “Big Bro” Round Two Jeans – BB1002.

A more tapered version of the Big Bro fit, this release uses a very special fabric concocted by Roy Slaper himself in cahoots with the Cone Mills White Oak Plant. The fabric is a 13.5 oz. unsanforized, loomstate “Black Seed” denim woven with a regular staple cotton warp and a long staple supima cotton weft. The resulting fabric will be less prone to stretching and the much-maligned baggy knee. The pocket bags were also custom woven for this particular jean. Each bag uses a 10oz. unbleached, ring spun, loomstate, 3×1 twill that’s cut and sewn in a way that allows it to shrink along with the jean. That’s a lot of denim terminology just for the pocket bags.

For this batch of jeans, Roy even had to have the selvedge ID threads custom made by another manufacturer and subsequently shipped to Cone Mills as Cone was not able to produce the particular thread themselves. As always, Roy’s jeans are chock-full of details, so we’ll just list a few of them below.
