Kiriko’s Nami and Asanoha Japanese Selvedge Denim

There are really only two reasons to be sporting a cuff on your jeans: 1. Your jeans are too long and you’re too lazy get them hemmed, and 2. For style. If your reasoning for a cuff falls into the second category, why not go all out with Kiriko‘s latest iteration of denim offerings?

Though they’re based in Portland, Oregon, their jeans are made in Japan in a five pocket style using 13oz. Japanese raw selvedge denim. They might look like your average jean on the outside, but it’s a whole other story once you turn up the cuffs. Rather than the usual weft side of the fabric, what you’ll find are traditional Japanese patterned fabrics lining the pant legs. The lining only goes from the hem up to 5.5″ so they won’t be your go-to jeans in the dead of winter, but it’s enough for you to roll up your cuffs twice and show off one of their two patterns, the asanoha and the nami (wave) pattern.

They come in a straight fit for men as well as a boyfriend fit for women and you can find them at Kiriko for $185.
