Some of you may very well be wearing heavy eye lids and carrying some (over)stuffed bellies, but wake up! It’s Fade Friday and this one’s a doozy. This time it’s a pair of Pure Blue Japan xx-011’s from Chad Yazzie in Arizona. It’s only been a year and a half for these Japanese blue jeans but they look years beyond that.

Through welding, college courses, outdoor activities, and moshing at local punk and metal shows, Yazzie has worn these jeans down to reveal some amazing fades. The contrast is quite high with whiskers and honeycombs chiseled into place. And, rather than showing off the selvedge and grey weft threads with a cuff, he put the extra fabric to use to form some crisp stacking.

Yazzie’s had his jeans repaired a few times since their first wear and has sent them to the fine folks over at Railcar Fine Goods. Subsequently, he’s also had to perform some repairs of his own. Though they’ve lasted a while, they might have to be put to pasture sooner than he’d anticipated. Nevertheless, it was a good run.
