Samurai and Iron Heart aren’t the only heavyweight contenders around. From the Osaka 5, Studio D’Artisan‘s new SD-307 competes head-to-head with these heavy hitters.
Weighing 18.5 oz. in its unsanforized state, these bad boys start out hefty and will tip the scales even more after a soak. The fabric is slubby in the warp with a natural weft and for you selvedge lovers, they’ve cut the selvedge not just for the outseams, but at the coin pocket as well as the fly. Probably not as selvedge-y as the Evisu 2020‘s as seen on our first Worst of Raw Denim, but they’ll do for most well-discerning denimheads. To match, the leather patch on this pair is heavier than normal, and they’ve embossed their hogs into the leather this time around.
