Loop & Weft Merino Lambswool Sweaters

Loop & Weft is heavy stuff. Not heavy in that it weighs a lot nor that it really brings the mood down, but heavy in that the material, detail, and production aspects of their creations are so involved it can be difficult to pick up the thought of them.

Loop & Weft’s motto is simply “Best Knitwear” and they back it up. This crewneck sweater is made from the wool of Australian merino lambs and entirely manufactured in Japan on circular weft-knitting machines, not unlike loopwheeling. This process creates a sweater that has no side seams, but L&W go a step further by dial linking the sleeves to the torso. Rather than trim the excess ends and sew over like a traditionally made sweater, L&W is actually connecting finished ends of the sleeve and torso pieces. The result is a stronger garment, with cleaner lines, and zero wasted fabric.

Additional details include a knit-in V in the collar like on older sweatshirts and dual ribbed sleeves and collar. All this can be yours in Navy and Brown for $265 at Okayama Denim.
