Donwan Harrell’s Jeanology Denim Course Open for Registration

We’re not making any assumptions, but if you’ve been spending more time reading Heddels than doing your day job, you might want to consider enrolling in Jeanology, Donwan Harrell’s highly sought-after denim intensive program. The month-long course is offered each summer through Virginia Commonwealth University, which you may remember from our earlier article on how to get a denim education.

Harrell is a graduate and now an associate professor at VCU. Harrell founded, and designs for the pioneering American brand PRPS, which paved the way for premium Japanese denim all over the world. He has over twenty years of experience in the industry, and previous sessions of Jeanology have been extremely well received.

Jeanology kicks off at VCU’s campus, followed by time at PRPS’ offices in New York City, and wraps up with a trip to Portugal.  The course covers the history of denim, a behind-the-scenes look at how a successful brand works, and hands-on learning at a denim factory.

Applications are due April 30th, so if you’re daydreaming about that Certificate of Completion in Denim Product Development, don’t hit snooze and head over to VCU’s website.
