Kapital Fall/Winter 2016 “Bad Opera” Lookbook by Eric Kvatek NSFW

Give the reins to Eric Kvatek and he’ll steer the horse to Kapital Kountry. Go-to photographer for Kiro Hirata‘s Kapital lookbooks, Kvatek has dreamt up shoots that range from rustic to refined, playful to pornographic, and always with a discerning amount of grit. He’s back at it for FW16 and it’s an adventure – or rather, an opera.

Shot in Budapest, the “Bad Opera” lookbook saw Kvatek’s full control over location, casting, props, art direction, photography, and post-production. So, basically everything. As such, you’ll find umbrellas a la ‘Singin’ in the Rain’, models doing the can can (or in this case, kan kan), and even Kiro himself happily bowling a 12lb. sphere straight into your face.

It’s an opera in which the costumes involve sherpa mixed with quilted nylon, a crazy sakiori-type cardigan, destroyed denim, an aran knit turtleneck jumpsuit, corduroy, and some full-on bowling team uniforms. You’ll notice past designs re-interpreted, like the St. Domingo denim jacket, the Westerner jacket, and their popular Ring coat. Cameos include the photographer himself, the designer himself, and Lauren Yates of Ponytail Journal and W’menswear fame. Also, it’s mildly NSFW.

Expect to buy your next company bowling team uniforms in stores soon.
