Red Wing Heritage Brings Out the 6″ Merchant Boot

Looking for a boot that’s not so… booty? Consider the Merchant. A new addition to the Red Wing Heritage lineup with their Merchant, which pulls inspiration from style 245, available way back in 1920.

With its low profile, less corky Chemi Gum sole and no toe-box construction, the Merchant, worn with a pair of tailored trousers or chinos, could easily pass for an oxford in more formal situations. In fact, the Merchant is inspired by Mr. Beckman (founder of Red Wing) himself; you, too, can wear them at work, doling out penny candies and salt pork to your customers, while still looking like a sophisticated member of the up-and-up merchant class.

The Merchant is made with S.B. Foot Tanning Co’s oil tanned leather, which is water, stain, and perspiration resistant. It’s built on the 8 last, which is also used for the Blacksmith (a more booty boot).
