Dyneema Denim Passes Standard Impact Abrasion Test

Good news for motorcycle riders looking to invest in quality riding gear: an updated Dyneema fabric has recently passed the Standard Impact Abrasion Test, making it readily available to wider garment manufacturing practices. This fabric, which is several times stronger than steel, lightweight, and resistant to just about anything under the sun will now offer greater flexibility and choice to brands looking to add ‘protective’ clothing to their product ranges. Passing the test makes it very official.

Having already been in use in various industries including apparel and bullet-proof vests, the ultra high molecular weight polyethylene known as Dyneema is set to offer robust footwear and clothing options unlike any currently available in the motorcycle market, among others.
