Fade of the Day – Converse Leather Chuck Taylor All Star (7 Years, 3 Months)

We know you love seeing beautifully faded blue jeans every day worn by committed denim heads, but today we’ve got something that speaks to a whole other form of commitment. Courtesy of Sven Howard from Istanbul, Turkey, today’s FotD showcases a pair of Converse Leather Chuck Taylor All Stars worn for a whopping seven years and three months.

Thrashed and beaten is an understatement when referring to these kicks. Undoubtedly the reason they even lasted this long is due to the leather body rather than canvas, but at seven years even Sven says it’s getting harder to put them on every day. He tells us that his feet will inevitably get wet every time in the rain, and that giant hole doesn’t help him stay warm either.

While he has come close to officially retiring them to the trash can on more than one occasion, he is determined to wear them until the soles wear through, and we commend him for that.
