Combed Yarn

What does Combed Yarn mean?

A yarn whose sliver is combed – uses finer fibre than carded yarns and is more regular and expensive than carded yarn.

Heddels explains Combed Yarn

As the name implies, combed yarn is yarn that has undergone the combing process so that all the fibers are straight and parallel.

This process creates a smoother, stronger, and more compact yarn that is excellent for weaving. Combed yarn is more costly than carded yarn because the combing process is extremely time-intensive.
