Heddels explains DuPont

Founded in 1802 by E. I. Du Pont, the company originally produced gunpowder and later dynamite. However, in the late 1920’s, DuPont began to focus its efforts on synthetic materials, discovering neoprene, nylon, and Teflon within a few years of each other. In 1958 the company developed Lycra. Today, its vision is “to be the world’s most dynamic science company”.
