Heddels explains Finishing

Finishing is one of the last steps in the production of jeans and refers to the methods used to age the pants. Many different finishing processes are used on jeans to produce a wide variety of effects. For example, the jeans may go through an enzyme wash or stone wash to give the pants an aged, worn look. Other finishing processes used on jeans include bleaching, overdyeing, sandblasting, and emerizing.
