What does Laundry mean?

Denim laundries are companies that take denim jeans in their raw or dry state and finish them through processes such as stone or enzyme washing, sanding, dyeing, potassium processing, and bleaching.

The majority of denim laundries are located in Italy, Japan, and Los Angeles, with one of the largest being Martelli. Martelli, known as “The Wizard of Colors,” was founded over fifty years ago in Bologna and is one of the most famous and important denim laundries in existence today.
