What does Leg Opening mean?

The opening at the bottom of a pair of pants.

The leg opening of a pair of jeans or pants refers to the width of the cuff, or very bottom, of the leg. Retailers will either list the leg opening as a flat measurement (as per the below image) or as a 360-degree internal measurement of the whole opening.

Average leg opening sizes on jeans & pants:

Skinny/very-tapered: 5.5-7″

Slim leg: 7-8.5″

Straight leg: 8-10″

Wide Leg: 9-12″ & beyond
