Shade Blanket

What does Shade Blanket mean?

A mechanized cutting techniques allow a manufacturer to cut a number of pieces simultaneously by stacking similarly sized pieces of cloth, binding them at one end, and then, with one cut, making many identically shaped pieces – similar to folding a piece of paper into fourths, cutting a pattern into the paper, and having four identical cuts once the paper is unfolded.

Heddels explains Shade Blanket

A shade blanket is one of these stacks of fabric that has been carefully monitored piece by piece for color consistency to ensure that each piece of the finished garment is of the same hue. Generally, the fabric is cut from the same bolt and the bolt’s number is attached to the stack of pieces ready for cutting.
