Fade Friday – Lee 101z 1966 (22 Months, 2 Washes)

For no particular reason, I’ve found myself listening to or hearing The Beatles more and more lately.  No specific album or song really – just that the group have been popping up at least every other day on my music shuffle, on the radio (shout out to Seattle’s KEXP!), and even in a few coffee shops.  What does this have to do have to do with raw denim and Fade Friday though?

In commemoration of the group’s 1966 “Help!” movie (Americana-clad in above Scandinavian photo shoot), Lee Jeans produced a replica model about three years ago – the 101z 1966.  According to classic Americana blog, The Weejun, the jean model’s association with The Beatles was not actively promoted (due to licensing reasons), but the design was purposeful and presentation/packaging is second to none.  Each pair comes wrapped with tissue paper that shows a brief history of Lee Jeans.

It’s always interesting to see retro replica’s and I personally think Lee Jeans executed solidly with this denim. More importantly, for Fade Friday‘s sake, take a look at the denim fades below!
