“To create the most user-friendly and comprehensive resource for men’s raw denim.” – That’s our mandate. While some of our readers might not care much for today’s featured jeans, we think it’s important to acknowledge all facets of raw denim.
It seems European high fashion brands are starting to take notice of all the attention earned by contemporaries such as A.P.C. with their trend-setting New Standard line. A few seasons ago, British fashion giant Burberry quietly released this pair of jeans made from selvedge denim in a “scraped raw wash”.
They have now followed up with a different pair in proper raw denim as part of their Burberry Prorsum line. Sadly, the jeans don’t appear to be selvedge, but specific details are scarce.
Is this occurrence a matter to be celebrated? Is raw denim making proper headway into the mainstream fashion big-leagues along with Dior Homme? Or is Burberry just trying to cash in on the latest trend? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.
