Fade Friday – A.P.C. Petit Standard (22 Months, 3 Washes)
If you thought last week’s Fade Friday was one for the books, this week’s is sure to not disappoint. Not only do we have an amazing pair of well worn denim with great fades, but we also have its very detailed history. Big thanks again to Stef Spijkermans for sending us his A.P.C. Petit Standard after 22 months!

Purchased at the flagship A.P.C. store in Paris, Stef wore these Petit Standard‘s nearly everyday for the last 22 months. At about the 12 months mark, he gave them a cold wash followed by another cold wash at month 18.
At that point, with the fades starting to set in and the denim showing character, he took the plunge with a normal wash in the hopes that he could get some prominent color contrast and fading. To him, they came out perfect.
We have all torn jeans in the past and most often remember how and when they occurred with obvious exception to wild nights. In the pictures below, you can see some prominent tearing in the crotch area, which was the result of a mishap while stepping off a boat. But not to worry – after a repair from Tenue de Nimes the hole is gone with only the story remaining.
Focusing on some of the fading features on this denim, on the front we can see some outlines care of an iPhone and keys. On the back, we see some tearing from a wallet.
Stef is still wearing these wonderfully worn denim today but is thinking of picking up a new pair of A.P.C.. What do you think? Should he keep going with these Petit Standard‘s or move on and retire these? Let us know in the comments section below!
