This week’s Fade Friday comes courtesy of Nagano, Japan. Famous for its winter sports, Nagano is also a mecca for denim enthusiasts – a logical step given that it harbours The Flat Head, their sister brand R.J.B., and the company-owned Dessert Hill’s Market retailers as well as the 50s-inspired Googie’s Café. The Flat Head keeps a collection of beautifully-faded jeans in their residential headquarters, including this pair of Flat Head 1005 jeans.
These jeans were worn by an employee of Flat Head’s company store in Ueda. While there is unfortunately no record of the number of washes or the exact time worn, we think the result speaks for itself, and a kind staff member tried on the jeans to give us some fit pictures. From the famous vertical fading and three-dimensional contrast to subtle details like the rolled belt loops and iron button tacks, these jeans exemplify Flat Head’s attention to the finest details.
