Fade Friday – BIG JOHN M1 Thin M106C (18 Months, 3 Washes)

This week’s Fade Friday comes to us thanks to the collaboration of Ryu Adachi, designer at BIG JOHN, and his BIG JOHN M1 THIN (M106C). He wore the jeans intensively the first year before scaling back to roughly twice a week for the next 6 months.

He has washed the pair 3 times over the 18 month span; the first wash after 7 months, the second at the 1 year mark and the third after 1.5 years, always with cold water and minimal soap. The denim is RURI, a 14.5oz BIG JOHN original Japanese sanforized selvedge denim designed “to replicate the color of the best selling BIG JOHN jeans in the 1970’s”.
