Around a year and a half ago, Converse made some slight waves in the denim community with the introduction of their low-priced Straight Leg Jean. Originally priced at $40.00 at brick and mortar Target locations, it looks like they’re currently available online for just $23.99. As finding a quality pair of raw denim under $100 dollars can be tricky (see part 1 and part 2 of our guide, “5 Pairs of Raw Denim Under $100), Converse‘s denim serves as a good option, as well a decent entry-level model.
Though finding a well-worn version of this denim has been difficult to come by, we were able to spot one on our forum. Our Fade Friday today comes from forum user RonnieJ, an automotive fabrication worker who prides himself in putting his jeans through the ringer. Not only did he achieve some beautiful fades out of a low-priced pair of raw denim, but he also chose to cut them up into a solid and functional pair of shorts for summer.
