Left Field NYC Store Launch – Ridgewood, Queens, NYC

Although Left Field NYC‘s Fall/Winter 2013 raw denim line-up was featured not too long ago, we felt the launch of the brand’s first-ever brick and mortar presence deserved some serious notice. The Brooklyn-based brand, helmed by Christian McCann, celebrated 15 years of being in business by opening its first storefront in an old sweater factory in Ridgewood, Queens.

Besides the news of the store itself, the shop location’s history deserves some attention as well. According to the brand, Ridgewood in the 1970’s was a large hub of domestic sweater production. If a customer bought a department store brand sweater back then, there was a significant chance it was produced in that neighbourhood of Queens.

Besides stocking the Left Field NYC and Choctaw Ridge collections, the store also features two vintage pinball machines that customers can play around on and an original Union Special such that patrons can have jeans and pants hemmed on site. Right now, the new shop is appointment-only so potential visitors can schedule their trip via e-mail at [email protected] or phone at (718)-366-7308. Until you make the trip, check out more of the photos of the location below.
