For this week’s Fade Friday we offer up a pair of Indigoskin Lunar Limited Edition courtesy of MicMaple, a university student majoring in architecture. We’ve seen a pair of Indigoskin featured before, but this week’s pair was part of a run limited to only 150 pairs and only available for order in Thailand where the brand is based.
According to the description from the brand, the denim was inspired by the “beauty of golden moonlight on a dark sky and ocean” which explains both the name and the use of indigo warp thread and black weft thread, a gold selvedge line, and gold contrast stitching. The denim was produced from 100% Zimbabwe cotton, known for its lustre and ability to soak up indigo.
While we don’t know a whole lot about the day-to-day activities that produced such pronounced fades, it’s clear that after only nine months, one wash and one soak the denim has already demonstrated its keen ability for deep contrast fades. The honeycombs and whiskering are particular highlights of this pair. Considering the denim’s original dark indigo colour, the fades are pretty remarkable after a relatively short amount of time.
