’’Finest quality clothing becomes polished with wear.’’ That is the statement of Fundamental Agreement Luxury (FDMTL). You may remember them from our Market Week Recap in January, they were founded and based in Tokyo and based there since 2005. They produce mainly denim garments in the denim capital itself–Okayama, Japan.
The brand’s name may sound like a mouthful, but is inspired by the literal meaning of the words themselves: Fundamental agreement = Having an agreement with the customers to keep providing them with high quality products. Luxury = the products are above standard in every way. In essence, the whole company is inspired by their motto. Producing quality products equals Fundamental Agreement Luxury.

Something that is characteristic about FDMTL jeans, is that they put a “charm bell” on every single pair of jeans through a grommet on the right front pocket. They have four fits: the heritage full legged Origin Straight, the Regular Straight, the slim straight Trace, and the skinny Figure fit.

The brand has been based in Tokyo for the past 8 years and they are ready to make the next step, moving to the EU and US market. Gaku says, “I would like to introduce our products to more people outside Japan.” At this moment FDMTL is looking for strong stores in the EU and US market. With a few stores negotiations are already taking place, so look forward FDMTL hitting the rest of the world soon!
