For the fashion industry, the name Billy Reid resonates with both classic Americana and luxury fashion. His MSL Collection recently released two new raw denim jeans of the Slim Jean and Standard Jean in Dry.
After taking a hit from post 9/11 economy, William Reid was reinvented as Billy Reid but not before winning several recognitions, one of which included GQ and the CFDA’s Best Menswear Designer award. Known for crafted men’s and women’s clothing with a southern prep flair, Billy Reid offers accessories, shoes, and denim.
The MSL Collection, which reflects Reid’s roots in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, is a US made collection. All products were sewn and washed on the west coast of the US with Japanese selvedge denim. Reid even customized the hardware with leather backed rivets and copper brushed buttons. Selvedge denim accentuates the pockets, fly, and hem. Available in a slim cut and standard cut, the new raw denim compliments the chore-jacket and heavyweight shirting also from the MSL Collection.
