Some of us are denim masochists, torturing ourselves with the tightest, stiffest, most uncomfortable pants imaginable. Then there are denim sadists, who prefer it the other way around–inflicting pain onto the denim instead. Today’s Fade Friday falls in the latter camp.
This pair of Gustin Heavy Americans are a mere seven months young, but they have already endured a lifetime worth of suffering from owner Ari Rasmussen. Ari’s activities include long-boarding and hiking, both quick ways to test the strength of your jeans, but the real kicker came from a seven-week stint of conservation work over the summer. Manual labor will transform a pair of pants very quickly.
He’s kept them alive with them three washes and four DIY repairs already, but the nail in the coffin is no fault of the denim. Ari’s recently dropped a few pounds and sizing down to something with a better fit and this trusty pair hopes he keeps up his diet. Also, be sure to check out Ari’s Soundcloud, if you concentrate, you can almost hear the sounds of screaming denim in the background.
