It’s officially spring (apparently) and since the days lengthen gradually until the next equinox, you might need something to shade your eyes. The Hill-Side has churned out some of the best fabrics in recent years and have come quite a ways since their beginnings when they primarily produced small accessories. Their recent expansion to apparel and footwear has proven successful, receiving a lot of positive reviews.
For the Spring/Summer season, The Hill-Side have made a set of 6-panel ball caps in a variety of fabrics. We’re rather fond of the indigo selvedge Panama cloth version. It uses the same fabric that they used for their sneakers and is characterized by a 2 x 2 plain weave. It’s soft and unstructured with twill tape seam binding, a chino fabric sweatband, cotton lining and brass eyelets. They don’t have an adjustable band, though, so you’d better know your sizing.
You can find them for $69 at Hickoree’s.
