Fade Friday – Imperial Prospector (1.5 years, 0 soaks, 0 washes)

These Prospector jeans from Australia’s Imperial started off with very high prospects: a slim tapered jean made from 14oz. of raw Japanese denim. Luckily, reader Kenneth Dang was able to strike it rich with the fades on his pair.

But unlike prospectors of the old west, Kenneth has worn his jeans for the past 18 months without a single wash or soak. Whether it’s the occasional day hike, errands, or a night out, he’s continued to wear them raw. The resulting fades have a good amount of contrast and a greyish-brown patina.

Not washing for the fades takes its toll, however. The crotch required a repair at around the one year mark at Self Edge. Keep up with Kenneth’s fades via his Instagram and see if he ever ends up washing them!
