Old Blue x Chain Stitches Rough Selvedge Jean

As you may have seen on many of our fade features, Southeast Asia produces some of the most ardent raw denim fans. It’s only natural that they also produce some of the most interesting raw denim jeans as well.

Indonesian brand Old Blue has teamed up with American retailer Chain Stitches to produce a special collaborative pair for the third iteration of the Heavyweight Denim World Championships that will run from 2015-2017. According to Chain Stitches:

The collaboration denim is made with 16oz. Okayama material that has a lot of texture to it. The finish is both rough and slubby. At this weight, and cut, this denim is comfortable, and has plenty of character. We also wanted to do something original with the patch.  I wanted to bring back the feeling that originally got me into selvedge denim, and a big part of that was the custom graphics on the patches.

These jeans are packed with many of Old Blue Co’s best features including 12 oz. red hickory striped pocket lining, Silver “Laurel Leaf” iron plated doughnut buttons (produced in Japan), and hidden pocket rivets. There are also special collaboration features like the hidden knife pocket, crotch rivet, and two tone highlighted chain stitching.

Right now we are offering them at a promotional price for our very limited quantity. We hope to produce another batch down the road, but only if we can get the same material. If it’s not available, we will come up with something different.
