The Hill-Side Spring/Summer 2015 Sneakers

Back with their third release of Japanese-made sneakers, The Hill-Side comes to us not only with new fabrics but a new sneaker too. The fabrics this time around are a little more focused on texture than patterns including an indigo-dyed sashiko fabric, a hemp/cotton denim fabric, and various panama cloths and duck canvas. Though not completely void of pattern, they have included a rip-stop “bleeding” tiger camo.

Lower than their low-top, they’ve also added a new style worthy of Spicoli’s feet – the slip-on. It comes in a solid natural canvas as well as a chambray/panama cloth version.

Kaptain Sunshine even gave these Brooklyn-based brothers a hand, using their proprietary “coal-stripe” canvas for The Hill-Side’s chukka. The canvas features ticking stripes in red, navy, and royal blue. From there, each pattern for the shoe is cut randomly, placing the stripes in a unique location for each shoe.
