Fade of the Day and Okayama Denim Giveaway Winner – WMLGoods Notebook Cover (9 Months)

For our Okayama Denim giveaway, we saw a ton of stacks, honey combs, tears and repairs from the dozens of denim submissions thanks to all of you.

Today’s Fade of the Day is also the giveaway winner for the non-denim category. Billy Lu isn’t just a fan of well-made goods, but he’s also a maker of well-made goods. Only a senior in high school, he first started leatherworking as a sophomore and has since grown his skills and products to form an entire line of leather accessories. His leather notebook cover was crafted with his own hands and he uses it every day to keep track of his tasks. It’s made with Hermann Oak veg-tanned leather and he initially applied a protective coat of Obenauf’s Leather Oil.

Nine months after stitching the last stitch, his notebook cover has turned into a nice honey brown shade with some indigo crockingc thanks to his pair of Unbranded jeans. Because it’s a little taller than his rear pocket, there’s a nice straight portion where the sun has darkened the hide. Although that may be a bit subtle and not quite a farmer’s tan, the inside of the wallet bears the Field Notes logo quite obviously.

A fun fact for the one man brand is that each one of his leather products is named after the first buyer. The good news is that there are a few products that still have yet to be named. So, if you want to stamp your name into the leather market, now’s your chance!

Congratulations to Billy Lu and again, thanks to all who entered our giveaway. Stay raw!
