Intentionally inconspicuous, Unbranded is a no-name brand that pares down the jean to the basics. For that, the jeans have gained a following thanks to their exemplary fades. For this week’s Fade Friday, we see why.
RD reader and Netherland resident, Jan Wartna has been dutifully wearing his jeans for a year and 7 months straight. Water was an ingredient particularly absent in Wartna’s wear regiment as he avoided washing and soaking the entire time. When things got bad, a hit from the steamer was all these UB101‘s experienced.
The jeans have now taken on an almost mid-grey cast with all the components of a Fade Friday: whiskers, wavy stacks, and crispy honey combs. But what really gives this pair its character are the rips, tears, and repairs. There have been numerous repairs at the crotch as well as at the honey combs. There’s even been a repair at the bottom of the right leg when Wartna’s foot busted through it.
