RRL Ralph Lauren FW15 Drops at Mr. Porter

As always, Ralph puts out the goods that continue to impress and cause hypersalivation. The latest drop from Mr. Lifshitz’ workwear line, RRL, hit online men’s retailer Mr. Porter last week and has got many a ‘Lo head breathing heavily. This season takes influence from the Bonneville Salt Flats and the strong motor racing history tied to the area. You can see the influence in the many graphics and embroidery details that permeate through the collection.

The Fargo Leather-Trimmed Canvas Backpack is more than copacetic with much to gawk. It uses an indigo-dyed duck canvas for the body which is also lined with a striped blanket lining. You know, just in case you’re caught in the dead of winter and there are no tauntauns available into which you can crawl. It’s outfitted with a leather bottom and leather accents all around that have been crocked with indigo thanks to what looks to be a garment wash.

The Skinner Oiled-Suede Jacket is certainly the big standout amongst the bunch and has already sold out. Based on Cossack jackets of the 1930s, it’s made of a tan oiled suede that’s been distressed and worn in. It features a contrast buffalo leather collar, button flap front pockets, and adjustable buckle side tabs. At $1800, it’s definitely not a piece to impulse buy.

If those options are worth a prettier penny than you’ve got on your selvedge-cut coin pocket, you can at least play the part with some of the RRL accessories like the Made in Japan Polka-Dot Cotton Scarf or Printed Cotton Scarf. Or you can send some subtle vibes to a friend wealthier than yourself to perhaps buy you an outerwear piece using the Studded Leather Key Fob which bears an inscription that says ‘You Pay’.

Everything you see above is currently available at Mr. Porter from $85 to $1800.
