Win a Pair of Kiriko Asanoha Denim

One of the main values of Portland’s Kiriko Made is the Japanese concept of mottainai, which translates roughly to “waste nothing”. Everything has an inherent value at every stage of its existence and should be treasured and held onto both despite and because of age and wear.

We’ve teamed up with Kiriko to give away a pair of their Asanoha denim–a 13oz. unisex, 5-pocket jean with a special Japanese fabric lining in the cuff–and to win it, you’re going to have to show your own mottainai. Send us your best worn item(s) that you have patched and repaired countless times to keep them alive. This could be denim and other apparel, but also cookware, books, bikes, cars–anything that’s dear enough for you to keep it going.

Submit your image(s) and description of your item below before 11:59pm EST this Friday, December 11. We’ll pick our top five entries to be voted on next week. The winning submission will earn themselves a pair of Kiriko’s jeans and one lucky voter will get their choice of a Kiriko scarf or bandana.
