With a rich history spanning nearly 80 years, PF Flyers is in no short supply of inspiration when it comes to reissues and reproductions. We’ve previously seen the heritage footwear brand partner with domestic brands on limited run collections–including Tanner Goods and The Brooklyn Circus–but for their latest creation, they’re looking back to the iconic shoe “guaranteed to make a kid run faster and jump higher” and giving it the full Made in USA treatment.
Based upon Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez’s secret weapon from the 1993 classic, The Sandlot, the Made in USA Sandlot is a premium, all-black, 14 oz. heavyweight canvas Center Hi sneaker. As we’ve come to expect with PF’s domestic line, many of the details are completed by hand (such as the back tab and tongue stamp); while the shoe is constructed with a Poly-Urethane injected midsole, pigskin lining, and leather finishing along the binding, heel strip, eye stay, and toe cap.
