Yes, you read that headline correctly, and no, these are not a pair of Kapital jeans. Where do we start with this week’s Fade Friday? This pair of A.P.C. Petit Standards were sent to us by Nuquan Newcomb of Atlanta, and he’s been kicking them for five years now. For three of those years he wore (and slept in them) every day. Nuquan wore them to work, in two hospital stays, and on a couple trips to New Jersey. In his own words, they’ve seen an “ungodly (and unknown) amount of repairs.”

The whiskers have been darned, patched, and stitched and seem to hang together by some force of magic. The back pockets are much the same. The repair work runs down the thighs, like a river of loose thread and patchwork. Even the cuff tears are patched. Stop for a moment, too, to reflect on the perfect honeycombs. Dumbstruck at these jeans? So are we!
