Rancourt & Co. Official Shoemaker for 2016 US Olympic Uniform

While it may seem like a small feat on a website that primarily features handmade goods from the USA and around the world, let us assure you this is a major milestone in the global clothing manufacturing economy. Rancourt & Co. has just been named the official shoemakers for the 2016 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams competing in Rio this summer. The entire opening and closing ceremony uniforms are designed by Ralph Lauren and this time it’s all made in the USA [USA! USA! -Ed].

For the previous summer games, Lauren was also designated to design the Team USA’s uniforms. However, they were being produced in China which led to a public outcry as well as disapproval by Congress. With the recent push for American-made goods over the last several years it seems Ralph Lauren listened.

The boat-style shoe features a round toe, rawhide leather laces, padded leather insole, and Vibram rubber outsole. Of course, it’s all wrapped up in red, white, and blue leather — not red and yellow.

Available for $350 at Ralph Lauren.
