Four years is a long time to rock a pair of raw denim jeans. It’s also a long time to not wash a pair of regularly worn raw denim jeans, and that is exactly what you are looking at today with reader Devon Franza‘s pair of Naked & Famous Broken Twill Selvedge jeans.
This was actually his introductory pair of jeans in the world of raw denim, and it’s no surprise that he put so much care and thought into them to not wash them for so long. Even for the denim nerds that have owned countless pairs of high quality jeans, it’s always a surprise how different pairs will produce different fades.
Over the span of four years, Devon has worn these jeans on and off, noting that while his honeycombs might be more pronounced with an eventual wash, the whiskers he has formed in this time have a distinct character and reflect his wearing pattern. The fades are dirty and not very contrasting – a sure sign of no washes. The seat has faded considerably and the back pocket seam folds are one of the most interesting aspects of this pair of jeans.
