If you didn’t know already, Sperry makes more than just boat shoes; they make sneakers, too. And their latest collaboration with high-end retailer, Barneys, takes the sails to the streets in their Recycled Sailcloth CVO Sneakers. Repurposed vintage sailcloth mean that no two shoes (and, by extension, no two pairs of shoes) will be the same. But these don’t use just any sails. They’re made with sails that were used by world competitors, including the U.S. Sailing Team Sperry. It’s like boro’s rich American preppy cousin.
Features include rawhide laces, cork footbed, and a vulcanized rubber sole with siping similar to what you’d find in their classic boat shoe.
Available for $125 at Barneys.
