If you’ve been hankering for a trip to New York City, save up your pennies to get there for New York Denim Days. Over the course a few days in 2017 (specific dates have yet to be announced) industry experts, buyers, brands, producers, designers – and you!? – converge for a multi-faceted, in-depth exploration of the past, present, and future of denim. As we’re big fans of sharing information, wisdom, and pure enthusiasm across the arbitrarily mysterious boundaries of producers, brands, and consumers, we think Denim Days is a pretty stellar setup.
The stateside event is based on the highly successful Amsterdam Denim Days, and the leadership team from the original is heavily involved in creating the New York iteration. With New York’s strong history in manufacturing and design as well as their present influence in trendsetting and consumer markets, it’s a natural extension of the programming from Amsterdam, which is often considered to be Europe’s hub for all things indigo. Some of the boldfaced names involved are the Kingpins Tradeshow (this is the one invite-only portion of Denim Days); Jean School; and House of Denim.
Oh, and it’s a safe bet that you’ll probably run into at least some of us if you attend! For now, keep an eye on our site, and follow @amsterdamdenimdays on Instagram for updates.
