Levi’s Introduces Made-in-Japan 501CT

Yes, you read that right. And no, this is not LVC. Levi’s just released two styles of 501CT’s that are in fact 100% produced in Japan, and they are interesting to say the least.

Given the increasing popularity of denim in the last ten years, it’s no surprise that the company that continues to hold the title of “founding denim father” has tested the waters in some of the more refined ends of the spectrum before. This release, unfortunately like many of their Japanese-made jeans, does not feature some of the finer made in Japan features we have come to know and love. Sadly, they are washed, they are weathered, and they are non-selvedge. While I have not held them myself, I would be willing to bet that the quality aside from those facts is high too.

This may not be the release you were hoping for, but who knows what it could potentially lead to in the future? Here’s to hoping for a little raw denim on those horizons…

Available for 19,440JPY (~$192) at Levi’s Japan.
