Fade Friday – Iron Heart 666SII (21 months, Unknown washes, 1 Soak)

The formula for creating wicked fades in raw denim is very simple – wear your jeans as much as possible. What dictates the awesomeness of the fades is what this wear entails. For a little under 2 years, Marc Gray, of Portland, Oregon, has worn these Iron Heart IH-666SII to work in coal power plants, steel mills, wind turbines, and other denim-shredding environments. The results are truly stunning and make Marc’s jeans an easy choice for this week’s Fade Friday.

As you can see, these jeans have really taken a beating. The lap and seat have completely faded out, and damage can be seen on the knee, pockets, and lower legs. The whiskers are well defined and you will struggle to find better honeycombs than these – stacked, sharp, and wrapping ’round to the knee. The cherry on top is the leather patch which has developed from a natural color to a rich dark brown with plenty of patina.

You can catch Marc on Instagram.
