Fade Friday – Sage Ranger II (13 Months, 5 Washes, 2 Soaks)

Whether or not you’re a fan of the ’80s or were even around to see them, you are probably familiar with some of the wild styles that were born back then. The age of hair metal brought along some funky clothes including acid washed denim, and lots of it. However, despite their appearance, these totally rad jeans are not from the ’80s and are the farthest thing from acid washed. This week’s Fade Friday features one crazy pair of Sage Ranger IIs worn by Fahmi Hutomo from Indonesia for just over a year, with a lot of fades to show for it.

It’s no secret that when you wear your jeans all day every day and night, good things will happen. Add Indonesia’s climate to that equation, and well – you get the picture. Fahmi has worn these Sages into submission, transforming what was once dark raw denim into almost white on both the front and back. These jeans hit all the checkmarks from top to bottom, from whiskered thighs and mondo honeycombs to pronounced roping, and everything in between.
