Nine Lives Indigo Sashiko Duster Coat

When we first saw Nine Lives at New York’s market week in the summer of 2016, it was sort of the talk of the town. Since then, they’ve started to land in a few stores here and there, and their Indigo Sashiko Duster coat has just hit the shelves at Long Beach’s Snake Oil Provisions. The duster coat is for those of us who like long outerwear pieces *raising hand emoji*, and while there’s been quite a few sashiko pieces in the past year, none feature fabric like the one on this coat.

It’s made just for Nine Lives, and it’s a substantial fabric that’s closer to the kind of sashiko you’d find on some keiko gis (Japanese martial arts uniforms). So, you know, if you’re sparring and your opponent takes you to the ground, it’ll keep you somewhat padded. How’d you get those sick fades? Practicing my ground game.

And although it’s a heavy fabric, it’s actually not too heavy for the warmer months, especially considering the fact that it’s unlined. They’ve also included custom metal buttons, finished seams throughout, and a tailored fit.

Available for $800 at Snake Oil Provisions.
