Fade of the Day – Levi’s Made & Crafted Tack Slim (9 Months, 1 Soak)

While some may question the quality and craftsmanship of a mass-produced brand like modern day Levi’s, there’s no doubt that they still make a good pair of jeans, often serving as a ‘gateway drug’ into the higher-end raw denim world. That was exactly the case for Heddels reader Tobias Krause of Denver, Colorado, and his pair of Levi’s Made & Crafted Tack Slims.

Tobias explained that these Levi’s were the first raw selvedge jeans he ever owned, and he took a lot of pride in wearing them as much as possible—everyday for nine months straight, to be exact. With only one soak so far, the denim is starting to show plenty of character and some inevitable blowouts around the fly and crotch. It’s safe to say Tobias is probably going to keep wearing these jeans despite their injuries, though he does plan to repair them soon. And his work has paid off with some great honeycombs forming behind the knees, matched with dirty thigh fades and excellent back-pocket fades exposing the inner-stitched Levi’s arcs.

You can see more of how Tobias achieved these fades on his Instagram.
